5 Pennies - Day 6

1. Mailed 2 people from church's shut in list a "Thinking of You" note
Again, the love notes. They are really simple to do.
If you have time during any day - just a simple thank you on a post it means a lot
It's just an opportunity to show respect and appreciation

2. Mailed 2 people - random names from the telephone book - a note with $1.01 saying spend wisely
There is an elderly gentleman at church that went ballistic on this thought.
Money is money - every penny counts.
Be really - money is substances. It should be used for good.
These people may have needed some food, or gas, or rent money.
If money is money and every penny counts - then maybe I helped them.
Or at least made them smile for the day.

3. Helped an elderly person through away their trash at the baseball game
Something simple - again, help your elderly

4. Cleaned up a table for the bus boy at food area
The baseball game was crowded - which was good, because the stadium and team needs the business. But the bus boy was running behind. Not to say that he wasn't doing his job - it was just the fact that the supply of trash was overwhelming and the demand of cleanliness was extreme.

5. Helped the "Moon Bounce" woman with some rowdy kids
This teenage girl was trying her best with these kids. The kids themselves were pushing others, including my son. Him being just 4, I tend to follow him through different activities. Some people say that it is being a helicopter - but I don't think so. I keep my distance when needed. But my son is very easy going so if you step in front of him, he just won't say anything and just let you do it. Seriously, he will just wait another 15-20 minutes for his turn to come around again - only for another kid to step in front of him. So when I saw that he, other little kids, and the worker were having issues - well my 'teacher hat' came on.
Maybe I was overstepping my boundaries, but she seemed relieved and my kid got a chance to play.

*Note - Parents, actively watch your kids until they are at the age of 10, then you can be passive. It is our responsibility to teach children how to take turns and be polite. You can't do this if you let your kids roam around and do whatever they want because you want to do whatever you want

A special thank you to the gentleman in the baseball parking lot that gave his extra found 'Home Run' ball to my son - it really meant a lot and made his night.
