5 Pennies - Day 160

1. Brought in the newspapers for another teacher
She was struggling enough in getting her badge out to enter the school while balancing the newspapers and her teacher stuff. So I quickly jumped in and offered to take the newspaper bundle into the school for her. It was easy to help - I was going in anyway and her classroom is real close to mine.

2. Held the door open for custodians
They were taking some excess things out of the school into the nearby dumpsters. There hands were full and could open the door, hold the door, and take the items out of the door. I was nearby and it was easy to just lend a hand.

3. Wrote a "Thank You" note to another teacher
This particular teacher has really stepped up this year in taking care of a lot of the PBIS (Positive Behavior Instructional Strategies) programs and activities. This is really her first year in doing this work and she is doing such a great job! I was really pleased in how well the Ice Cream Attendance event went yesterday - so I just wanted to send a simple thank you - oh, with a piece of candy too!

4. Brought in homemade candy for another teacher who was worried about a personal problem
I have started to become really close to this particular teacher and have recently learned that a family member of hers is really undergoing some serious health issues. She is normally very bright, happy, & bubbly - but lately you can tell that she has been carrying the stress of her family on her shoulders and in her face. I just wanted to do something nice to show her that I cared. And I know that she loves chocolate.

5. Made step father some afternoon coffee
He's been working over time lately in making sure that the roads are clear for his work & that the new building that he is the head construction manager passes all of the safety codes. He just deserves to be treated nice for all of the extra work.
