The Walmart Adventure-
I normally hate going into the local Walmart store. Not that I have an issue with the company itself, it's just the local store in my town doesn't have the nicest people or is it very clean. Did I mention that I was OCD and cleanliness is a big trigger of mine?
1. Bought extra doggie treats for SPCA
There was a 'filler' ad in the newspaper asking for extra dog/cat supplies
2. Bought mother & step father their favorite candy
Again, something simple and nice to do to show someone that you cared
3. Told the produce guy that he was doing a good job
Sometimes when you give someone a compliment, they don't know how to take it. I will admit that I am extremely bad at this too. Sort of like, so why are you being nice and what do you want from me? When has society become so cynical and who is teaching this? One of my son's favorite movie is 'Wall-e'. I love the part where Eve looks at Wall-e and says, "Directive". I often want to say this to others as they approach me. Sorry, this is my anti-socialism tendencies.
Note: We should really be teaching each other to start appreciating what we can bring to the table. Maybe the world wouldn't be as messed up as it is if we extended our gratitude through simplicity.
4. Bought 3 bookbags for church/school mission project
Even though it is in the middle of July - you can never start too early in getting ready for school!
5. Helped a woman unload her shopping cart.
I was just standing there as this woman was trying to take care of her very active little boy and unload her shopping cart at the same time. She had that look of panic on her face. Mother's you know what this look is. About 5 seconds from having a meltdown yourself because you are being pulled into several areas by several different people - and yet you are supposed to look stylish and graceful. It was the very least that I could do to help her out.
