1. Bought and placed an Apple calendar in another teacher's mailbox
So there is this wonderful 7th grade teacher that has an extensive collection of apple decorations. Instantly when I saw this knick-knack at the store the other day, I knew that she would appreciate the thoughtfulness.
2. Wrote a "Hang in There" note to another that has been having several rough days
Her schedule is much different that from last year and she hasn't clicked yet with her students. She mentioned that lately it is just a struggle to survive - which I really feel sad hearing her say this because I know that she is a great teacher. She does have some strong and unique behavior issues in her classes, but I know that she can handle them - she just needs a little more encouragement.
3. Wrote a "Congratulations" note to two other teachers that were notified by the State Department of Education in regards to them being selected to present at the Middle School National Conference
I am so proud of these teachers. They are so smart and very passionate about what they do in the classroom - obviously it shows since they were selected. Such a great opportunity for them to show off their work to a possibility of over 5,000 teachers from across the nation - think of the networking! Again, really proud of them.
4. Wrote a "Thank You" note to custodian because she took time to warn other teachers, students, and parents about the wet floors that she was cleaning after school today
Again, always treat your custodians the best in the school - the do a very hard job that is often taken advantage of. They are just as important as any teacher, administrator, guidance counselor, etc.
5. Got extra water for the lead singer at church service tonight
It was hot, one of those end of summer "Dog Day" evenings. That with the sun still in the sky it is burning the air & ground up, but when it sets the oven machine is turned off and it because chilly. Anyway, she was hot from the heat and started to having a little coughing fit - it was extremely simple to do.
