5 Pennies - Day 19

1. Helped carry sand toys for another parent
So I went to the park with a friend of mine and her kids. There were 3 kids between us under the age of 5 and only the two of us as parents - yes, were were out numbered. However, by helping each other out - the park trip was successful.

2. Thanked another child for using patience against a bully.
One of the other children that belong to my friend was a little older than my son. In an earlier post, I talked about how my son just has an easy going personality and will let anyone step in front of him or take his toys. Rarely does he complain and sort of has a nonchalant attitude towards this behavior. Well, another child was starting to do this and my friend's kid stepped in the way and told him no - but used his words. If we can learn anything from this, it is to teach our kids how to be positive bystanders by using firm words; as oppose to firm hands.

3. Picked up trash in the parking lot of convenience store.
Again, I hate litter. It just so disrespectful to the grounds keeper of the establishment you are at and to nature in general. Anytime that you have the opportunity to pick up 5 pieces of trash and throw them away properly - please do so. Then, sanitize your hands immediately!

4. Watched other parent's kids at pool so they could have a moment to talk.
The anti-socialist that I am have a hard time carrying on conversations - even with my closest friends and family. It's just easier to let someone else talk and just to listen sometimes. What's even easier is if you don't join in the conversation at all. However, watching other kids couples the avoiding a conversation with giving others the moment to converse in adult conversations. We moms out there relish this opportunity because most of the time the only conversation that we have is with our children.

By the way- my most recent one was a debate between which is the better superhero: Batman, Spiderman, or Superman. It ended in a draw - literally & figuratively.

5. Got ice water for the members of the Praise Worship band for the church service.
Again, the heat wave and outside service - this was a simple thing to do.
