1. Brought in breakfast for another teacher
She has been working really hard in putting together a really nice ceremony to honor various students throughout our school for showing great character & academic success. I just wanted to say thank you and treat her with something nice.
2. Gave my music student a card and a special treat for his birthday
He has been looking forward to his birthday for awhile. Funny kid! Even though he is turning 14, the excitement that he projects reminds me very much of my own 5 year old son. Anyway, I got a birthday card, wrote a simple message, and attached a piece of candy. Before school started this morning, I put it at his locker - sort of like a nice surprise!
3. Helped parents find their kids at an afterschool club
After school today there was a parent that was wondering around the front end of the school. Apparently they were waiting in their car for around 15 minutes, but their child didn't show up yet. So I helped them by walking him to the after school club area and located their child. It was no big deal. I would have wanted someone to help me if I was looking for my son.
4. Gave substitute a special treat and thank you card
There was substitute that helped out in the front office for the past few weeks, while one of the secretaries was on medical leave due to a minor surgery. So today was her last day working at our school. I just wanted to say a special thank you for all of her hard work.
5. Provided music entertainment to an elderly nursing home
My grandmother loved it. Apparently she was telling everyone all day today that I was coming with my students. She was a great promoter - a lot of clients were there. Then after wards she kept on going up to everyone tell them how proud she was of me- It was nice to hear that.
